sawadee ka....
sawadee kaa......
u tink thailand's beautiful? me too..I ve always had a great impression of the ppl..the country..the beaches...
this place....(Ban Tam Nam Chai Orphanage) where Im now...is better than beautiful... looking at the kids everyday taking care of themselves...their "brothers n sisters" ... sharing things... elder feeding the younger ones... or even younger feeding the older ones... it's so heartwarming it melts my heart...
the sweeties here?....they each haf their own stories... most of them lost their parents or parent to the tsunami.. some were abandoned..some treat the home as a rehab..to change over a new leaf... watever reason it is...they all haf a really beautiful heart... it's smtg..Ive never seen not felt as much before... so young..yet so independent... a 3 yr old can powder himself.. wear his own clothes..eat on his own.. feed his peers.. cheer his friends up.. draw a beautiful picture..
they hug n pacify the others when they cry or fall... how sweeter can it get?
yes..the place might be little dusty...n sometimes kids drop their food on the floor (not to worry..cos the dogs around lick it up... =P) ..we might not get used to it... but tat's if we r used to spore's "too-cleaniless" ..though I feel it's in much better condition than other homes in the country or elsewhere..
honestly .. my first few days...i had this urge to clean up the whole place...sweep..mop..tidy everything..but i look at the children n the staff...they seem to be at peace with the state... so why can't i?
oh yea.. learnt to ride a motorbike! haa..one of the guys taught me to... kids here learn to ride a bike at the age of 8,9,10...or even younger... not a surprise to see a whole family of 4,5 on a bike.. or with no helmet... (honestly? I was really scared during my 1st ride.. with 3 peepz on a bike...ALL of us had no helmet.... =P) but...now..kinda used to it liao..haa.
i so gotta upload all the pics...but the com's quite err..slow..so will do it a little at a time ya?
oh yea...had 2 spore friends with me the first few days..P. Ne, n P. Piak (they use P. to address friends..or elders.. n they use nicknames over here...everyone has one...well mine? P. Kat..or P. Meow....haa..) yup..they were really helpful..helped me adapt ... guided me about.. we chilled out for tea at nights too.. n talk kok in the room thruout the night... must say im really thankful they were around..else might haf felt quite lonely..
hmm..sadly they left le..Ne on thursday...Piak yesterday.... sheesh... =P
food? yummy man.. padthai rocks... though was telling my parents....thailand's prob a vegetarian's nightmare (not Carl's JR) ...almost everything's with pork... chicken..eww for me.
lucky 4 me, managed to get the vendors to cook a padthai 'chay'... or fried veg with rice.. blah blah.. =)
alright..will keep u guys updated...take care sweeties..
with metta...
